Today we had everyone in the kitchen! Rinat mixed the dry ingredients. Chelsea pureed the beets. I combined the wet and the dry. Annabelle and Sarah sat perched on the counter, watching us pour velvety batter into crinkled parchment cups. It was a perfect afternoon of free flowing chatter and decadent cupcake creations....

For most, the idea of handling meat straight from the slaughter house is one we would rather leave up to our local butcher, or in most cases to whomever gets the bloody thing into its Styrofoam/cling-wrapped packaging.
